The gently undulating hills of Meghalaya are home to the Khasi, Garo, and Jaintia tribes, conservators of some of India’s best sacred forests. The amazing Living Root bridges, patiently hand-crafted over decades, are a moving testament to the ability of humans to learn from Nature.
In Assam, we head out to explore the grasslands of Kaziranga. This spectacular forest is one of the last remaining homes of the One Horned Indian Rhinoceros, a magnificent creature that looks like it has been around since the time of the dinosaurs. For the avid birder, Kaziranga is also an excellent birding site with over 400 bird species.
Meghalaya & Assam have a lot to offer to the discerning traveler and we are going to take full advantage of that.
